When I spoke with Mom in the days leading up to this sibling session she mentioned it was her oldest that the session was really for. Rose loves everything unicorn and everything pink. Immediately I knew what pony we had to use and what unicorn colors to go with. Jasper, our adorable black Miniature Horse with the magenta unicorn horn and halter! His black coat made the magenta accessories pop with extravagance, and his sweet nature and small stature was perfect for Dahlia, the young toddler, and Iris who was there doing his brotherly duty making his sisters happy. Rose was speechless nearly the entire session, she was so in awe and in love with Jasper. The siblings didn’t have much previous experience with ponies but that didn’t stop Dahlia from giving Jasper all the hugs and kisses she could! I chose the magenta dress for Rose because it is so epically Princess, and the color was a perfect match for Jasper’s horn and halter. I paired her dress with Dahlia’s baby pink dress, a color combo that complimented eachother without being too matcha-matchy, and tied them together with the same baby pink flower crowns. Using a few shades of pink flowers in Jasper’s mane and tail the pink theme came together beautifully! Iris was perfect in his navy blue pants and blue plaid shirt, looking the part of a modern day prince. It was important to me that I go a picture of all three together for Mom, so I did that set up first while I had the best of their attention. It took a few tries to get all three looking and smiling at the same time (and a little help from Photoshop!), and I couldn’t be happier with the result. From there we did individual portraits with Jasper in the background, and then some portraits beside him. We added cold water to the teapot for them to drink and play with halfway through the session, and ended with some bubbles and play in front of the Ponies and Pipsqueaks’ castle! Everything came together beautifully for this session. It was a hot and very sunny day that resulted in some absolutely incredible images.
